Azziad Nasenya Nominated For International Award
Azziad Nasenya, a popular influencer and social media personality has achieved a big milestone in her career after being nominated for an international award.
Nasenya has been listed among other African bigwigs in line for the E! People’s Choice Awards, African Social Star category.
The American award show recognises entertainment personalities who are voted for by their fans and the general public.
“Announcing your Africa Social Star nominees! Now, time to get voting. Go to votepca.com/af,” E Online Africa wrote on its official social media handles.
The thrilled 21-year-old took to her Instagram stories last night to share the good news, saying that she is humbled and grateful, letting her fans know how to vote.
“The support is overwhelming. Thank you, thank you! Someone has just sent me a screenshot from Twitter and people there are doing the most. The same on Instagram and Facebook, the love is overwhelming. Let us bring this thing home,” she said on a clip.
Following her nomination, the influencer has been trending at number one on Twitter, with fans and friends congratulating her for the international recognition, and others rallying behind her, encouraging Kenyans to vote.
“I am floored! Happy for my nomination as African Social Star of 2021 in E’s #PCA. Thanks for standing by me and cheering me on,” she tweeted, adding, “please vote for me on votepca.com/af or tweet using the two hashtags #AzziadNasenya and #AfricanSocialStar. Let us do this Team Azziad!”
Nasenya will be up against YouTube sensation and LGBTQ advocate Lasizwe Dambuza (South Africa), make-up artiste and beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase (South Africa); TikTok star Witney Ramabulana (South Africa), comedian Madam Boss (Zimbabwe) and self-empowerment advocate The Odditty (Nigeria).
Last year, Kenyan comedian and social media personality Elsa Majimbo took home the prestigious award.
“I won the E! People’s choice award!!!!! I literally could not have done it without all of your amazing support,” Majimbo wrote on her social media handles, thrilled at the win.
The runner up in the category was Nigerian Vlogger Dimma Umeh.
This year’s E People’s Choice Award is expected to be held on December 7, 2021, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The show will be broadcast simultaneously on American networks E! and NBC.
