CJ Koome Weighs In On Harassment Of Female Motorist By Boda Boda Riders

Chief Justice Martha Koome has joined Kenyans in condemning the acts of some boda boda riders who were videoed on camera draining a womanish automobilist.

In a press release statement sighted by Enewskenya.com, the CJ stated that the act was ‘cruel, inhumane and obsoleting of any sense of humanity.’

“I hope that the perpetrators will be apprehended and processed through the criminal justice system in a systematic manner observing careful considerations of criminal investigation, prosecution and efficient judicial management of any preferred case in accordance with the tenets of the Constitution and the rule of law.

“As a woman and a Kenyan citizen, I decry this act as barbaric and requiring the highest legal attention. Kenyan women, girls, and indeed citizens must feel protected and safe in their own country. This is a priority that we must continue to pursue,” read the statement in part.

Sources indicate that the youthful woman, driving a tableware taproom auto, was allegedly involved in an accident with one of the Boda Boda riders on Wangari Maathai Road ( former Forest Road) egging the outrage.

In the one- nanosecond videotape, a crowd of Boda Boda riders are seen following the tableware auto crying‘ Come Out’.

The National Police Service also reflected on the incident that happened on March 4, 2022, noting that the perpetrators shall face the full force of the law.

Police Prophet Bruno Shioso added that 32 people have been arrested so far and 12 motorcycles have been seized in connection with the incident.

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, on his part, said he was shocked and shocked by the viral clip, noting that further requirements to be done to cover road druggies from similar acts.

“I am shocked and disgusted by a viral video clip of a female motorist being molested by suspected boda boda riders along Wangari Maathai /Forest Road. We must protect our roads from such vile and reprehensible acts of aggression.
