The Aga Khan Academy  Nairobi is operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), a non-profit organization, with close to a hundred years’ experience operating schools in Kenya.

The position

The Course Coordinator – Literacy will be responsible for the delivery of intensive train-the-trainer sessions, teaching the (IBATE) program to school leaders and managers from public schools under the F4L Project as well as deliver and modify the course content, design presentations and create training manuals and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic needs assessment and base line testing in the  area of expertise
  • Conduct, Mark and analyze results from selection testing and impact study
  • Develop and deliver programs in the area of expertise
  • Provide comprehensive learning support to program participants
  • Maintain attendance and perform records of the course participants and the HoPDC
  • Coordinate Portfolios as allocated by the HoPDC

The requirements

  • A Master’s degree or higher in English Instructional Design.
  • Experience in Adult teaching and Learning in Literacy and English.
  • Experience working in a developing country context particularly East Africa.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Experience in Course Coordination.
  • At least five years of teaching experience.
