The son of Nominated MP David Sankok shot himself dead and Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding his suicide.

On Tuesday morning, Mr Mwenda Ethaiba, a Narok County Criminal Investigations Officer led a team of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers to the lawmaker’s home at Ewaso Nyiro Centre, Narok County.

Sankok’s 15-year-old son was a Form three student, and it was reported that he gained access to his father’s bedroom where he had hidden the gun, on Monday at around 3 pm.

The detectives are seeking to know how the boy accessed the gun and where it was kept according to sources privy to the investigations.

The CCIO said they are trying to figure out what could have triggered the young boy to shoot himself.

“We are investigating and in the course of time we shall be able to unravel that,” he said.
