Requirements :

National Diploma in Electrical engineering light current or Clinical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an as professional Engineering Technician. Three (3) years appropriate experience in a Clinical Engineering environment. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge and skills in the use of various hand tools and test equipment such as defibrillator analyser, infusion pump analyser, multi meter, ECG Simulator, and other resources within clinical engineering.

Duties :

Perform in-house repairs and maintenance of medical equipment. Condemning of medical equipment. Ordering and distributing of medical spares. Training of clinical engineering technician assistants, students, and end-users. Building relationships with Finance regarding payments of service providers. Type out reports. Attend meeting related to medical equipment. Supervision of all on-site repairs, maintenance, procedures, and safety checks. Advise on all aspects relating to the medical technology life cycle. Monitor service level agreements with external service providers.
