The IIE Varsity College Durban North Campus has a vacancy for a Marketing Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Administration

  • Accurate capturing of full time prospective student information, appointment forms and applicants.
  • Preparation and issuing of acceptance and visa letters.
  • Capturing all leads into the relevant campaigns (interest cards, Online applications, Online enquires).
  • Working co-operatively with the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time) with respect to all database statistics for marketing reports i.e. (Presentation Trackers and all relevant sales reports).
  • Responsible for all marketing stock and promotional materials.
  • Provides support as required for the Student Advisors diary management (Booking & confirmation of appointments, appointment form preparations, follow up on cancellations and no shows and confirmation of presentations with schools).
  • Ensures that all interview rooms are ready with appropriate marketing collateral.
  • Assisting Students Advisors with all database administration and associated correspondence.
  • Responsible for the integrity of data across all systems relating to the information for prospective Full Time students and applicants.

General Activities

  • Provide support as needed for events such as open days and career fairs etc.
  • Calling to support the student recruitment team in peak periods, this includes databases calling, as well as calling of interviews and applications as required by the Head: Student Recruitment to support the Student Advisors.
  • Any adv hoc duties as stipulated form time-to-time by the Head: Student Recruitment (Full Time).

Competencies required:

  • Organisational and administration skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy required in both tying and data capturing
  • Microsoft Office – with a focus on excel at an intermediate level
  • Problem Solving

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Matric essential
  • Relevant 3-year Diploma or Degree is recommended

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Administration experience

Fitter at Sibanye Stillwater

The appointee should:

  • Be in possession of Grade 12 or Technical Specific N2
  • Certified Competent as Fitter
  • Trade Certificate issued in terms of section 13 or 26D
  • Completed formal Learnership programme prior to obtaining a Fitter artisan Trade
  • English literate (speak, read and write)
  • Must be able to do standby and overtime
  • Must be familiar with risk assessments procedures
  • Valid driving license code 08
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.

  • Achievement of safe production performance levels through the effective maintenance of equipment
    • Attend and conduct Safety meeting
    • Conducts and participate in Risk assessments
    • Allocate tasks to subordinates
    • Attend to Breakdowns and emergencies as required
    • Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required
    • Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates
    • Comply to environmental requirements
    • Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components
    • Maintains a high quality of work
    • Timely and accurate information
    • Records results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format
    • Works in a sequence that prioritises work requirements
    • Completing job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s)
    • Performing work to the required standards and specifications
    • Applying appropriate tools to complete tasks

    Good employee relations

    • Ensuring effective teamwork
    • Identify potential conflict situations and minimize the implications of possible conflict
    • Ensure that subordinates have clear work expectations and plans
    • Conduct on the job induction
    • Support, coach and participate in the training and development of subordinates and apprentices
    • Effective two way open communication with subordinates and line supervisor
    • Report at risk behavior, incidents and injuries
    • Interacting with other departments
    • Advising defects and abnormalities to appropriate supervisor or manager
