President Uhuru’s Niece Nana Gecaga Celebrates 23 Years Of Sobriety
Nana Gecaga, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece is marking 23years in sober as she couldn’t hide her joy. Sharing her journey so far, Nana sent an appreciation message.
“It’s an extremely important day for me. I am 23 years sober today,” she said, adding that the 4th of July is a day she does not take for granted.
Sharing a message of hope to those dealing with alcohol addiction, Nana urged them to continue with the good fight.
“I know a lot of people still out there struggling with alcoholism and I just wanna say keep at it and Keep going, the race is with yourself …and as hard as it may be, look for the people around you and don’t be ashamed to ask for help. The day that I asked for help, is the day that my life changed,” she narrated.
Nana is proud of where she is now looking back at where she came from, she doubles as a mother of three pretty children and the CEO of Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
Since her transformation, she now sees herself as strong and independent and takes every day as a blessing.
Despite the time or addiction differences, President Kenyatta’s niece invited everyone to celebrate her journey and sent congratulatory messages to those on a similar path to hers.
“And for those struggling, take it very seriously…There’s nothing more important than finding your sobriety,” Nana said as she expressed gratitude to those who gave a helping hand.
“I just want to thank everyone who has stood by me this far and I’m so proud of the woman I have become and continue to be… happy sobriety day to me,” Nana shared.
